There is no such thing as an average morning on the ranch. Some days you rise with the sun, drink your coffee and head out the door. Others you’re woken up by someone screaming “cows are out” as they stumble out the door while still trying to get their britches on…can you take a guess what kind of morning today was?
If you guessed the second one, you’re right!
A few hours and some choice words later, we made our way back up to the house to finally grab a cup of coffee and a toothbrush (in no specific order) and an overwhelming sense of gratitude washed over me.
While my morning started out a little rocky, I am still doing what I love, in the place I love, surrounded by people I love. Name something better…I’ll wait.
When I look back on some of my favorite days, I have spent them covered in “dirt” (let’s be honest we know that’s not what it really is), riding shotgun in a very well loved feed truck, getting my work out in by opening and closing gates. Those days make every bit of the hard work worth it…and I’ll let you in on a secret, they really aren’t few and far between.
Our grass-fed, grain-finished beef is made with blood, sweat and tears…but it is also made with laughter, quality time and love. And trust me when I say, you really can taste the difference those things make (if you don’t believe us head over to our shop to give it a try.)
Early mornings don’t feel so early, and hard work doesn’t seem so draining when you are putting your all into something you love so much. I just hope everyone can feel this way about something…even if it doesn’t make your Friday mornings as eventful as mine!
Talk to ya later,
Morgan
