Let's Bust Some Myths

Here’s the deal, the meat industry is FULL of lies and misconceptions. You ready for an example? Strap in because here we go!

On a recent trip out of state a woman told us that cattle get E. Coli from eating corn, then said E. Coli is passed along to us through the meat. Wanna guess where she learned this from? A very popular Vegan Lifestyle book. While this claim is totally FALSE, it is a narrative that is being pushed by so many, and that broke our hearts.

After hearing that comment we quickly worked our way through the five stages of grief, and decided to seize that moment and educate - which as beef producers is something we have been called to do.

So let us break it down for you quickly:

  • The E. Coli transmitted from meat to humans is not found in corn.

  • Bacterial contamination of corn is addressed through stringent intervention methods during the milling process.

  • Intervention methods at our highly vetted processing plants mitigate E. Coli transmission substantially.

Here’s the thing about producers, we take pride in our product. We feed our family the same beef that we are sending to yours, so we strive to ensure that it is clean every single time. We don’t do this for the money (trust us when we say there are far more lucrative industries that don’t leave you exhausted and dirty at the end of the day) we do it because we love it. We are truly proud of the product that we create, and sadly that is something only 2% of the population can say they feel.

We hope that through our platform we are able to educate you while also showing you a glimpse into the small moments that push us to continue to do what we do every single day.

We hope to show you:

The gratitude we feel when we’ve ridden that pasture for the 4th time looking for a calf we know has dropped only to find him healthy and happy lying in the grass.

The pride we feel when we see our son or daughter with sleepy eyes and messy hair by the door at 5am because they don’t want to miss those early morning rounds.

The joy we feel when we gather our family around a supper table to reap the rewards of a very long process, all while knowing we will get up tomorrow morning and start all over again!

….and maybe we can bust a few myths you’ve heard along the way!

If you’re still with us, just hang tight because we are about to wrap this up!

The grass-fed grain finished beef that we provide you with is healthy, delicious, nutritious and more affordable than what you are going to find on a grocery store shelf.

Give us a chance to impress you with one of our signature beef bundles. Head over to

And if you have any questions, give us a call or stop by the ranch, we are always happy to have someone ride shotgun and open the gates for us!

Talk to ya later,
